I hate my class because I feel like teachers teach us things that we would never use in the real world. It seems to complication and will be quickly forgotten once we leave high school. It’s hard for me to care about something that I’ll never need. What should I do?

Dear Unmotivated,
Even though it seems like what you learn may be useless, most skills build up logic and critical thinking skills. Thinking and problem solving are used every day in almost every work field. Also, if you’re unsure what you want to do when you’re older, you should gather all the skills possible, that way you have all your options open to you. The most important reason to do the work you think is worthless is because you need it to pass high school. So hit the books hard, and study up.
